INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AT ISTHIA
Since 1999, ISTHIA has been stepping up its international activities and developing new models of cooperation. ISTHIA’s internationalisation focuses on courses, as well as on expertise and research activities.
EXPERTISE ACTIVITIES IN THE INTERNATIONAL FIELD
Expertise activities in the field of tourism, hospitality and food studies as part of the decentralised cooperation policy in the Midi-Pyrénées region (Vietnam, Senegal, Morocco, Egypt), including cooperation with Malaysia.
Some of the degrees at ISTHIA are in partnership with Taylor’s University of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia: Bachelor’s degree MRC, Bachelor’s degree MHR, Bachelor’s degree MIT, Bachelor’s degree PA, Master’s degree MIHM and Master’s degree FSG.

- La Escola Universitaria de Turisme i Direccio Hotelera (EUTDH) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in Barcelona
- The Universitat de Girona in Girona
As well as in Scotland with the Business School of Edinburgh Napier University in Edinburgh.
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES ABROAD
Research activities with academic and professional partners: Chair of Food Studies with the TTUC (Taylor’s Toulouse University Center) in Malaysia, research programmes with the Université Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis in Senegal, the University of Udayana in Indonesia, the Universidad Autonomia Metropolitana in Mexico, and more.
BILATERAL MOBILITY PROGRAMMES
Exchanges between different partner universities also translate to bilateral teaching mobility programmes. ISTHIA lecturers are invited, on an ad hoc or more permanent basis, to take part in the teaching faculties of universities abroad. Similarly, foreign lecturers come to ISTHIA to give lectures and courses in French or English. Also, international students come to spend a semester or a year at the Toulouse or Foix campuses to study a number of courses at ISTHIA.
