It’s that time of year again!
After the official ISTHIA – Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès meeting last Friday, the new Bachelor’s students in Tourism, Hospitality and FoodStudies (THFS) spent an art-filled day in the centre of Toulouse.
Our objectives for this first day trip of the year?
– Getting to know each other: the 2025-2026 batch is made up of 18 students coming from Algeria, France, French Guyana, Ghana, Indonesia, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mexico, Myanmar, and Vietnam!
– Launching the students’ project for the French Culture module : the creation of a restaurant/hotel concept on the theme of finearts and culture.
– In the morning, they discovered Hôtel d’Assezat, one of the architectural gems of the Pink City, and visited Fondation Bemberg. Our passionate guide Elena Romanelli took them on a journey through art history, introduced them to painting analysis by pinpointing the importance of, lights, colours, and scenography and by drawing links with their fields of study.
Thank you for such a delightful visit!
– In the afternoon, the students had the the privilege of discovering Hôtel des Beaux-arts, which stands out as one of the oldest establishments in Toulouse. This unique boutique hotel offers a guest experience around classical and contemporary art. We were warmly welcomed by its owner and manager, Nicolas Boulet, who shared his passion for the hospitality industry, as well as his expertise in hotel management, daily operations, and hotel design and decor.
We are thrilled that our students could visit this amazing place. Thank you, so much Mr. Boulet.
Thank you everyone for this great day.
